Tops For Small Studios and Practice Rooms

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful
For a small classroom, practice room, or recording studio that needs simple, easy to use powered speakers the StudioDock 4i speakers are an ideal solution. Aside from the pleasing style and color scheme the simplicity of connecting the speakers to a computer or other audio source cannot be understated. Sound reproduction is great, and I was honestly able to hear some nuances in some of my recordings that I had never noticed before on other sets of speakers.
The StudioDock's built in iPod dock is a great additional feature, and with so many musicians and music teachers using iPods on a regular basis in their jobs it makes sense to have a multifunction device like this speaker dock available. One caveat is that the iPhone is not compatible with the dock, and although it will allow the user to charge and sync an iPhone with the computer it will cause major noise and interference problems unless the phone is put into airplane mode.
As you can see the product received 5 out of 5 stars in all categories but one. The reason that durability was down to 4 stars is only because of the lack of any protection for the speaker domes. In a school or other busy environment it might be rather easy to have the speaker get punctured in some way without any means of protection.
