I received permission the other day to attend the national MENC conference in Milwaukee, WI this April! I'm excited about it and can't wait to go. How about you?
For years I have made it an important part of my educational career to go to at least one conference or convention each year. They help to recharge the old mental batteries and get a person pumped up for the future. This year I decided to try something new. Instead of going to a local conference in my home state of Iowa I would try to take advantage of the relatively close location of the 2008 MENC National Conference being held in Milwaukee, WI this April.
The many sessions and nationally known speakers that are scheduled at this years conference are inspiring and I know I will come home with some great information and ideas. Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser will be there speaking, as will Stephen Van Zandt (of Bruce Springsteen E Street Band fame) talknig about a new music education curriculum project that I have detailed here before. As a technology nerd I can't wait to walk through the 200+ booths in the exhibit hall.
On a side note, if any of you are also planning to attend the conference please let me know ! I would love to meet up with as many readers of MusicEdMagic as I can!
