Chad Criswell currently serves as a band director for Southeast Polk Community Schools in Altoona, Iowa.  He has taught all levels of music instruction, including nearly a decade teaching high school band before venturing into the land of elementary instrumental music.  For over ten years now he has also served as the educational technology writer for NAfME's Teaching Music Magazine.  His articles have also been published in other music education periodicals including InTune Monthly, InTune Teacher Edition, School Band and Orchestra Magazine and The Mississippi Bandmaster.
While his passions focus on instrumental music he is also a very vocal advocate of educational technology issues, having earned his Master's degree in educational technology from the University of Northern Iowa.   He is a regular presenter on various music technology related topics at regional and national conferences including the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago and the National Music Education Week Conference.
