This week I thought I would do a little mash up of some of the most interesting articles and blog posts from other music educators that I happened to find recently. My interest in reading these various bloggers was fostered by the continued dedication to the cause set forth by Joe Pisano and his 100 ME Bloggers campaign. His efforts have met with some great success. Here is one of the great posts that I came across while ruffling through his links.  By the way, links to many of the same Music Education bloggers are now available in the MusicEdMagic resource directory !

Dinner and A Movie- Blog post by Linda Granite, elementary band teacher

Linda hit on a sore spot in my own teaching, the area of whether or not to use physical incentives to increase student achievement or not. More to the point, how much to spend, how to spend it, and whether or not these kind of things ever get any appreciable results. Linda's post on the subject of student incentives for elementary band students parallels my own classroom experiences in many ways and it is refreshing to remind myself that all teachers go through many trial and error periods before they finally find out what works for them. So to everyone else, please take heart and take a look at our two stories.
