Josh HuntI am proud to introduce two new writers here at MusicEdMagic.  First is our new percussion expert, Joshua Hunt:

Born in Russellville, Kentucky, drummer/percussionist Joshua Hunt began playing drums at the age of 5. Similar to many others growing up in small towns, Mr. Hunt began performing with cover bands as a teenager. Upon graduating high school, Mr. Hunt decided to pursue a degree in music performance at Western Kentucky University, and received said degree in the Spring of 2004. Upon graduating, Mr. Hunt auditioned, and was accepted, at the prestigious University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received the Creative and Performing Arts Fellowship, as well as a teaching assistantship while completing his Master of Music degree. Upon completion in 2006, Mr. Hunt was offered a teaching assistantship from the University of Illinois Jazz Division, and immediately began working toward the Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in jazz studies. Mr. Hunt is currently completing research for his dissertation in order to complete that degree.

Also joining the crew is Mr. Tyler Ross specializing in jazz related information and John Wegge, specializing on string bass and related topics.  They will be making their first posts in the coming days and we want to thank him for coming on board.

We are still looking for scholarly minded individuals in the areas of brass, woodwinds, and marching band to contribute as well.  If you are an individual that would like to share your knowledge in an area with the rest of the world please contact us through the About menu at the top of every web page on the site.
